School Philosophy
S.t.E.A.M. Emphasis
Given the correct opportunities and environment young learners can gain many benefits from S.t.E.A.M experiences. Here are a few:

Child - led Approach
Child led learning leads to great educational and developmental outcomes. This approach accommodates a child's creativity, imagination and encourages them to share their ideas and thoughts. These types of learning opportunities tend to draw in all the children of a group it caters to all of their individual personalities as well as fostering a sense of being, belonging and becoming.
Collaboration
At Sunnyside Adventures Preschool, we see ourselves as part of your child’s development team. Collaborative effort with your family and any other important stakeholders in your child’s growth is a cornerstone of shared successes with each child. Having consistency across environments is a key element in supporting their rapidly growing young minds. Clear, open, and honest communication with our families is fundamental to this collaboration. Creation of Sunnyside Adventures' School Philosophy
Throughout her career as an early childhood educator Ms. Kim often would infuse hands on activities into her classroom experiences through messy sensory play, experiments, loose parts engineering building and more. As Ms. Kim continued her studies in early childhood education she soon discovered what she was doing naturally was teaching through the child-led approach with and emphasis on StEAM based learning. Along with the StEAM based teaching Ms. Kim has always seen the importance of developing a strong social - emotional foundation in young children as this is the building block to future success in all areas of a child's life. The child-led philosophy combined with StEAM inquiry based learning and the importance of open and honest communication with families became the basis for the program at Sunnyside Adventures Preschool.
