Open & Center Exploration

During this time child are free to explore the areas of the center. During this time staff will have a variety of learning experiences for children to engage in that will change depending on interests and development. Open ended and self exploring activities can include: art, science experiments, math, cooking, language arts and more to engage the children in all aspects of their development. Children will be encouraged to explore, experiment, practice, ask questions and encouraged to follow their own ideas.

We read stories geared towards the children's interests and the theme we are doing for the month. We gear our story time to the children's age level and abiliity. During story/circle time we also do different activities such as felt boards, letter activities and songs which are also guided by children's developmental readiness and interests.
